I am the worst Scary Godmother fan ever. I followed you because I liked your art, and seeing that Bug-A-Boo costume just now I just realized you did Scary Godmother! Ah! Hi! I might be the worst fan right now but normally I promise I am a HUGE fan. xD
No worries! Oh Hai;-) it’s Halloween season! Time for Scary Godmother even more! Im looking for my costume sketch files on the computer! I keep forgetting what I named them! I’ll put them all up ASAP for peeps to look at and try and make their own costumes!
how do you achieve darker tones of a same color? is it based on how much water you put on it or do you mix it with different tones of grey? love your work and looking forward to seeing you at FIQ, here in brazil!
You achieve a lighter value in watercolor by adding more water than pigment to the brush. Conversely you get a darker value by reducing the amount of water. Play around with it. Create a value chart for yourself if necessary. Don’t be afraid to be bold!. Too much pigment with certain colors might give you a chalky appearance on your finished painting. But it depends on the color and the grade of paint. I use Windsor and Newton for the majority of my colors. But some colors I like have been discontinued so I’ve had to search for substitutes.
