This is in response to the person who was asking about your special MLP issue! I work in a comic store, so I know that the issue with your cover is being offered by subscription only through the Diamond catalog. Comic stores are not able to order copies for their shelves. (I really want a copy, too!)
I did not know this! Hope this helps all MLP fans and Bronies get their Jill Thompson Pony Cover!
If Kristen Stewart can lose her job, risk losing her entire career, fanbase, and respect over cheating on her boyfriend, the fact that Chris Brown is still acknowledged and celebrated is a fucking crime. If you want a prime example of women’s inequality in the media, there it is.
I seem to be missing the most important pages from the Beasts of Burden story A Dog and His Boy… 12-17…the sad crying ones…I was looking for them to do a presentation in Norway this week. This is what comes of having not enough studio space and taking art to shows and having it shown in galleries….when it comes back—I misplace it! I know I did not sell it! It’s my favorite story and the fact that all of those pages are missing in that order means that I was showing it as an example of storytelling and pacing…In the words of WInnie the Pooh—-Oh Bother! I do not need another thing to worry about right now, that’s for sure!!! Little people! Please bring those pages back!
Norwegians, you will have to settle for a presentation using the actual book as my visual aide! I promise there will be lots of stories to go along with it! And, I’ll paint for you!
Also, I wouldn’t feel comfortable traveling with all that original art anyway„,but I wish I knew where it was right now…
I love those movie pitch pieces, when I did my "Artist I admire" report for life drawing last year i showed those to the class much ooing and ahhing, and I pulled out my Scary Godmother books and passed those around just to show how you can do awesome beautiful and frightening things and lively fun things.
Wow! That’s quite flattering! Keep on with the life drawing! It’s very important in comics! All the important storytelling is done with subtle expressions of the face. ANd don’t overlook the feet and hands! They might be hard to draw at first, but with a little practice they are easily mastered! I love life drawing!
Scary Godmother. Enough said. My favorite thing EVER! I look forward to it all year at Halloween for it to be on Cartoon Network, and I really need to buy the movies/books. Thank you so much for creating it! :)
Pick up both volumes of Scary Godmother Stories from Dark Horse Comics. Check in your Local Comic Book Shop! If they don’t have them- ask them to order them. If they won’t, they are dicks and then you should order them from Amazon.com.
If you liked the cartoons, you will love the books!
I think you can start finding the animated specials in stores now…they usually pop up around this time of year! Or, you can order that online as well.
Hello! I just wanted to say that I really love your artwork. Especially the coloring. I was at Fan Expo on Saturday but because I was waiting in line for photo ops the whole day (literally standing for six hours straight) I didn't get a chance to tell you in person. (That mermaid Delirium is lovely, by the way.)
Thanks for the compliment! I enjoy creating comics and painting them! I hope you spent some of that time in line for photos with some of the talented comic creators who don’t charge anything for a photo op or an autograph on their comic and or graphic novel. It’s a good deal!
Just got to say that I was super excited when I discovered off of Neil Gaiman's page that you had a Tumblr. I've got both Little Endless Storybook and At Death's Door, so I had a mild to serious fanboy moment when I discovered the page. Am a fan, Scary Godmother has been on my list of things to buy, and look forward to your updates.
I add things as much as possible, thanks for hanging out!
So, I'm sure you get lots of these questions, but do you see yourself making any more Scary Godmother comics? These are my favorites just because I'm a Halloween-all-year-round kind of gal, and I absolutely adore the art you put into them. Also, may I add, Count Max and Countess Ruby were my first OTP.
Slowly but surely I will be making more Scary Godmother everything! Comics, Books….I’m working on something else right now but stay tuned!
